Carter/Reddy is a new design consultancy from frequent collaborators Milton Carter and Mike Reddy.
Our mission is to create authentic experiences for brands that walk the line between handmade and polished, vintage and contemporary. A brand-new bar feels like your old favorite the day it opens. An album cover is fresh but fits right into your collection. We present specific visions with a clear message, a sense of humor, and a nod to history.
Milton Carter is the owner and creative director for lifestyle brand M. Carter as well as chief curator of M. Carter’s retail shop and art gallery. He’s the creative director for restaurants The Commodore in Williamsburg and El Cortez in Bushwick. Prior to starting his own firm, he was the art director at Knitting Factory Entertainment.
Mike Reddy is the founding art director for StarTime Intl Records (now an imprint of Columbia) and the former design director for Seventeen magazine. His drawings have appeared in The New York Times, Lucky Peach, and online for The Atlantic, The New Yorker, and Esquire. His collaboration with the band The Fiery Furnaces includes 10 covers, solo albums, a book, and a video.
